Following a tour of duty in the US Army, Dennis Buchanan began his career as a registered nurse at Montefiore Medical Center where he practiced in general surgery, critical care and medical risk management. He served as the chapter chairman for the New York State Nurses Association learning of the challenges facing working professionals.

Through his advocacy for the nurses, Dennis was recognized by the Chief Personnel Officers in New York and was offered a senior personnel position at Beth Israel Medical Center. His career spans executive positions at Macy*s New York, LIJ Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. As chief human resources and compliance officer he has been recognized for developing cultures that improved employee morale and management effectiveness. He has been chief spokesman for employers when dealing with unions, government agencies and in litigation.

Continuing his academic development, he earned both a Masters in Personnel Management and a Juris Doctorate along with multiple certificates from Harvard Law School, Wharton and Cornell.

Dennis current practice represents and advises clients in employment matters, estate planning as well as other legal and human resource matters. He has been trustee for many organizations including credit unions, benefit and pension funds, and schools. Dennis volunteers  (or does pro bono work) by representing clients who can’t afford legal representation.
